Eucalyptus glaucescens plug plants (Tingiringi gum)

Plug plants are 10-20 cm high seedlings grown in trays of small cells. They can be planted directly in the ground. There are 100 plug plants in a tray. Eucalypts should be planted at at a minimum of 1,667 plants per hectare although for short rotation forestry and in exposed conditions they will fair better at stocking densities of 2,000 – 2,500 per hectare. The most popular species in recent UK plantings due to its exceptional cold tolerance, its general unpalatibility to deer and adaptability to diverse sites. It also typically shows exceptional form and dimensions.

• Cold tolerant to around -18ᴼC
• Grows up to 1400m above sea level (asl)
• Will thrive throughout the majority of UK sites
• Range from 20 to 40m in height
• Growth rate approx 26 cubic metres per hectare per year (m3/ha/yr)
• Sites need some drainage for best growth
