NH1 (Nordic Hybrid 1) (Populus × canadensis = P. deltoides x P. nigra)

The poplar variety NH1I variety is suitable for latitudes between the 50th parallel (south of England) to the 57th parallel (central Scotland). There are a few trials in England and Scotland which suggest high growth potential and tolerance to exposure.

Plant Breeders’ Rights information

This poplar variety is protected by Plant Breeders’ Rights legislation. In accordance with EC Regulation No. 2100/94, no further multiplication or propagation is permitted from any Plant Breeders’ Rights protected poplar plants/rods/cuttings, or each and every part thereof, whether assigned, purchased or supplied. This regulation prohibits unlicensed willow multiplication or propagation for own and others use as well as for sale.

These varieties are dispatched from Carlisle in England
The earliest we can dispatch poplar is December. However, we would not recommend planting before February. Optimum planting is in early March.
