Kevin says:
This is a perfect opportunity to find out about short rotation coppice (SRC) willow from the people who know. As well as Robert and Bryony Graham, I’ll be there with willow contractor Jamie Rickerby, field trials expert and plant breeder Will Macalpine of Rothamsted Research and grants guru Mary Dimambro. You’ll be able to see the crop, find out about the market for peat free compost, find out how to plant, manage and harvest the crop and store the woodchip for compost production and use in a biomass boiler. You’ll hear about the economics and find out about the latest willow varieties.
Going to Groundswell? Then pack your bag for an extra night and come the Lodge Farm first. We know you’ll enjoy it and hope you’ll be very pleasantly surprised just how versatile willow can be as part of a diversified, sustainable farm.
