Eucalyptus coccifera plug plants (Snow Peppermint, Tasmanian snow gum)

Plug plants are 10-20 cm high seedlings grown in trays of small cells. They can be planted directly in the ground. There are 100 plug plants in a tray. Eucalypts should be planted at at a minimum of 1,667 plants per hectare although for short rotation forestry and in exposed conditions they will fair better at stocking densities of 2,000 – 2,500 per hectare. This is a species with straight vigorous growth that is very cold tolerant and has been successfully established in Scotland. It’s juvenile leaves are round and glaucous.

• Grows on well drained, rocky dolerite soils
• Copes with conditions of frost, snow and wind
• Tolerant of saline and salt spray conditions
